Surrouding Attractions

If you prefer to watch marine life from the shore, you may be interested to know that Paternoster was aknowledged as part of the Whale Route in 1996.

The crayfish season starts from November - April, so bring along the diving gear, but don't forget your permit.

The many beaches and bays offer privacy to sunbathers and good fishing opportunities for anglers.

Tietiesbaai/Cape Columbine:
Only 4km from Paternoster is Cape Columbine, a nature reserve, which boasts one of the last manned lighthouses (installed 1936) in South Africa. Here you will find the unforgettable “Tietiesbaai”, which has many picnic spots and overnight camping facilities.
